Tomorrow is the first day of March. Most of the leaves have fallen and the cold weather is nearly gone. One of the negative aspects of fallen leaves besides having to rake them, is that many will land on your roof. While this may not seem very problematic, excessive build up of debris such as leaves, pine cones, & sticks can actually create leaks all on their own. We had a previous customer call us last week due to a roof leak around their chimney and once we arrived, we noticed there was a build up of debris behind the chimney which was not allowing the water to flow off the roof properly(see picture). We removed the debris and the problem was solved! So be sure to do a quick walk around your home to make sure you do not see any debris collected in the valleys or behind the chimney. If you do, call a professional to make sure that the debris is removed promptly to avoid any unwanted roofing leaks.
